Madara is indeed beastly in this particular chapter (and it may come out again, later, for a different reason). ;)
He genuinely does want everything Sakura-related to be perfect, because he sees her as perfect. <3 He may be arrogant, overconfident and possessive, but he is also completely enamoured with Sakura and wants everything good for her, and has made the effort to improve himself for her, too. <3
